Wales game may be Kane's last chance
The Tottenham forward may be dropped by Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson if he does not improve of their next outing, says the striker-turned-pundit

Alan Shearer believes Harry Kane is danger of losing his starting spot if he does not improve in England's next Euro 2016 game against Wales on Thursday.

Former England skipper Shearer - who had been unimpressed with Raheem Sterling within the Russia draw - warned the 22-year-old in the need to be better against Gareth Bale and co.

In his column for BBC Sport, Shearer wrote: "England manager Roy Hodgson could be well within his rights to share with Kane that his performance against Russia has not been good enough and hubby has to improve or he can change things up front.

"I would tell Kane - as well as Sterling, whose final ball was again very poor - that, although I am going to follow you, unless you do better then I could make those changes throughout the Wales game. Then it is approximately them to respond.

"I am a large fan of Kane, but he looked very leggy and tired against Russia. Kane didn't have a lot of energy and the man did not play well. He failed to manage a single touch within the opponents' penalty area.

"Of course, even though you have one bad game does not always mean you are a bad player and Kane will likely be looking to Hodgson to supply him another opportunity. But Hodgson has many other strong options, particularly inside the centre-forward positions.

"For the time being Vardy should wait, nevertheless the fact we missed numerous chances against Russia means that, in conjunction with Sturridge and Marcus Rashford, he'll be thinking it may not be well before he has the nod."
